When I graduated from DePaul University in 2006, I thought I would get a job in journalism and be set for the rest of my life. Boy was I wrong. I spent a year freelancing before I hunkered down and got a writing job in the corporate world. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Because of this career journey, I’ve met a ton of inspirational people who showed me the importance of learning new skills. Thanks to their not-so-gentle push in the right direction, I gained new skills in:
- social media marketing
- community engagement and development
- web content
- blogging
- content and social media strategy
- ppc campaigns
- book reviewing
- manuscript editing
- resume writing
- project management
- crowdfunding
When I’m not working or freelancing (yes you can HIRE ME), you’ll find me out running or in the kitchen baking.
